Mana
Mana is an Iranian-American MC who is boldly taking a refreshing step towards making good music. Being born in Washington, DC and raised in Tehran, Iran gives a young girl a unique outlook on different lifestyles and cultures. She credits traveling to 15 countries by age 15 as a heavy influence to her upbeat, cut-throat, and melodic sound. Playing piano for 7 years, taking vocal lessons, and writing poetry was her introduction to music but she found her true voice through hip hop. She immediately connects with a lot of fans once they hear transition from rapping from English to Farsi. She’s often compared to artists like M.I.A, Lauryn Hill, and Nas. She has shared the stage with Ghostface Killah, Raekwon, Cappadonna & Biz Markie to name a few. Mana makes music with the goal of inspiring new generations of people to reach their goals and maintain a positive attitude on life. She addresses issues that the media ignores and attempts to give a voice to the voiceless. Her debut album “Lipstick Revolt” will be released 11/11/11.
