What were your thoughts at seeing the (ultimate) frisbee field had been turned into concrete plant? A sign of progress? Or sadness over the loss of a place that had provided temporary relief during difficult times?

I was horrified! That field was really one of the few respites from work and war that we had. It was also the place of such a wonderful experience in which Iraqis and Americans played together and built informal bridges–so few and far between in a war-time environment.
